There's really no secret necessary for success. You already have every characteristic necessary for to attain success...if you recognize, claim as your own, develop and use them.
In my Coaching Sessions, I see way too many eBay Sellers blind-sided in learning "Must-Have" Characteristics that applies to successfully building any business.
1) THINK BIG!
Envision your financial success as real. If its just to earn an extra income or to become rich, thinking big will get you there, sooner than you expected.
Keep the momentum of your vision growing in the right direction!
2) BE THOROUGH!
Setup your business properly, from your account to all the way to accounting for sales and expenses. Select quality products by reading verified customer reviews. Learn about suppliers shipping and return policies, making sure they meet your return policies.
Check and double check all tasks, until it becomes habit.
3) STAY FOCUSED!
The number 1 problem working online from the comfort of your home. Discipline uninterrupted time, space and mentality to stay focused on tasks at hand. Take breaks after you completed tasks often. Start fresh with a new task.
Staying focused keeps momentum going.... closer to your financial goals.
4) FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS, NOT THE PROBLEM!
Every business has problems, the more it grows the more problems encountered. Recognize the problem objectively, yet put your focused attention on finding a solution. Completely relying on other associates for solutions shortchanges your own developed skills to think differently.
Focusing on problems, not solutions will get you lost in why you started in the first place.
5) THINK LONG TERM!
Build your business based on people, not just money. Value every contact with a buyer or customer, as if they were your first. Take advantage of instilling confidence, even if it's a bad start. Tell them you how your business goes the extra mile to assure 100% Customer Satisfaction...then do it, even if its providing a refund on a small profit item. 6) LEARN EVERYTHING YOU CAN!
Everyday, ask yourself "What can I learn today, that I didn't know yesterday?" The Ecommerce Industry is growing in leaps and bounds, while changing everyday to adapt to new technology, opening doors to new techniques and strategies to capture more customers. Learn more, stay updated and apply to your business.
People who won't open their minds to new strategies seldom reach their financial goals.
7) SEE THE OPPORTUNITIES...LIKE IT IS!
Challenges are opportunities in disguise. There isn't a negative challenge that doesn't have a hidden positive, just waiting for you to find it. Customers sometimes write hostile messages about pricing or services. Learn to put yourself in their shoes, read between the lines to discover what they really want. I always say the bigger the challenge, the more positive outcome! 9 out 10 times customers need to just blow off steam. Develop your communication skills in staying calm, responding in a professional service-oriented manner, you have the opportunity to build confident customer relationships, turning into long-term repeat business. Turn negative challenges into positive opportunities.
8) STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE!
Everything you do with excellence, even down to the smallest details, reflects to viewers, new customers, performance, feedback and yes sales. Take the time, while building your business, to strive in excellence from the beginning. it will payoff in long-term success later. Provide quality products, photos, descriptions and excellent customer service.
Go the extra mile to stand above competitors.
9) DON'T GIVE UP!
When things get tough, the tough get going. Some give up before they get going. Focusing more on problems, rather than solutions is a sure way to forget what and why you started in the first place. Let go of old thinking habits. Use your decision to become a business owner to improve on your weaknesses while acknowledging your strengths.
