View Count...Reset-to-Zero Glitch
While Mentoring a student last Wednesday, when reviewing her traffic rates, I saw all her ratings were set to ZERO, like I've never seen over 4 years of Mentoring eBay DropShip Sellers. If your store was one of the lucky ones to be randomly affected by this Global Glitch with little or no sales, eBay isn't saying if this glitch was just a 'reporting' type of issue or in fact 'actual' issue that caused a cease in traffic and sales. Some traffic ratings and viewer counts are beginning to show up again, so let's hope you are one of them!
Removal of Listing Merchandising Feature
.eBay's latest 'unannounced' change has again streamlined listings by removing the 'see other items' link to only a 'visit store' link. Although on the surface to sellers it appears to be a reasonable removal, but on the buyer's end this removal, discourages the majority of buyers who want to view other items rather than visit a store. Buyers are conditioned to select view other items and don't know what they will see when selecting 'visit store' most likely return back to previous listing or move on to another competitor's Selling Platform.
Another Buyer Search Frustration
The removal of this Merchandising feature on listings will no doubt drive traffic and sales down further at the Seller's expense, as more and more buyers become frustrated...not so much from their buying experience.......but more so from their search experience.
When a shopper is ready to buy, they want easy and fast search results, not wading through zillions of Sponsored Ads or Product Brand pages, like Commercials flashing at them, and they're already conditioned to easily navigate to find eBay Sellers with the highest quality product they can afford and 'view other items' while they are there.
Rumor has it this intentional 'unannounced' streamline change is another attempt to boost revenue forcing more Sellers to pay for Promoted Listing Ads to boost their sales. You decide.
Solution to Overcome Sales Loss
Historically, Retail Merchandising is the leading conversion element that leads to sales. Shelf-space at eye level is where Product Brands compete or pay high dollar for this shelf position...and its no different online!
Matter of fact, there are at least 6 sales conversion apps in eCommerce Store listings.
eBay Dropship Sellers, pay Basic Store Fees equal to an eCommerce Store Platform, wouldn't you expect eBay would, at least, provide ONE Merchandising Feature, to help convert more buyers into sales from viewing other Store items?
