In June, all listings will be removed if they contain ACTIVE CONTENT. I know how this may sound confusing for many to understand or know what is active content, as its taken me years to learn specific html codes and how they work. There is no easy way I can explain to you how to identify if your listings contain active content, even if you are using listing templates that claim they are Mobile-friendly, except to say Mobile-friendly and Active Content are two separate operations within a listing template. The most common Active Content is free add-ons offered by InkFrog and Auctiva such as scrolling galleries or visitor counters. These can be automatically disabled through your eBay Account setting using this tool. Other listing applications are not as easy to identify. Old listings using autolisters or providers, especially Good Til Canceled may contain java script, flash, plugins and form actions to enhance or add functionality for their listing templates to work with their autolister system. Many have not updated their listings to be active content free, prior to using them to list or are currently outdated to comply with eBays ban on Active Content. Specifically, if you are using FREE Listing Templates and/or eBay's listing editor, you are running a high risk of having ACTIVE CONTENT listings removed and/or not coded to rank high in front of Mobile Shoppers. Either way, both affects your bottom-line........ sales. As always, I stay ahead of ebay's announcements of new changes and adapt immediately, so members of TheHelpPlus are equipped prior to changes, preventing the need to spend huge amount of time to adjust all their listings. For example, members and many high volume Power Sellers are already equipped in using the 2017 Mobile/Desktop-Friendly SEO eBay Listing Template for Manual listing or in autolisters such as DsmTool or PriceYak. These eBay Sellers know they are up-to-date with listing descriptions are:
I've always been one of the eBay leaders who love FREE, but when it comes to the importance of your listing descriptions being eBay compliant in functionality and highest possible ranking in search for more potential buyer views, a one time small (tax deductible) investment giving returns in more sales, I highly recommend spending a little to gain a lot.
